With hotly contested races for governor, US Senate and other offices this year in Maryland, we check in with the prior governor, Parris Glendening, for an extended discussion about who the strongest candidates are and who would make the best office holders. Glendening sizes up Doug Duncan, Martin OMalley, Ben Cardin, Kweisi Mfume, Michael Steele and others. Since leaving office, Glendening has been serving as president of the Smart Growth Leadership Institute. So we talk about sprawl and the ICC, and also global warming, gay marriage, immigrant rights, capital punishment, and his legacy.
